Crucial BX300 datasheet
Ever wonder why your phone works as soon as you push a button, yet your computer takes forever? The reason is simple: Your phone runs on flash memory technology, while your computer runs on an outdated hard drive. It's possible – in fact, it's easy – to get the same near-instant speed you expect from your phone out of your computer. Upgrading to the Crucial BX300 SSD is perhaps the easiest way to get all the speed of a new computer without the price. When we say it's easy, here's what we mean.
Fix your slow computer and feel good about using it again! Load apps and save files immediately with the Crucial BX300, which accesses data over 300% faster than a hard drive.1 That's how you get the immediate responsiveness you expect. Changing your storage drive is the proven way to speed up startup times – making your computer start almost as soon as you press the power button and improving almost every aspect of computer performance.
Run your computer cooler, quieter, and faster with 45x the energy efficiency of a typical hard drive – and extend your laptop's battery life.2 Reducing system temperatures also helps lengthen the life of your computer and the components within it, which is an inherent advantage of SSD technology. Since SSDs don't use small mechanical parts that are prone to failure like you'll find in hard drives, they're an easy way to improve the health and efficiency of your computer.
Opening your computer and updating your storage drive can seem complicated and intimidating if you've never done it before, but our straightforward, easy-to-follow instructions and videos make it so anyone can install an SSD! Millions of people worldwide have chosen a Crucial SSD – it really is easy.
Easy decision: Replace your hard drive
Booting up, loading things, and transferring and saving files aren't complicated actions, but a slow and outdated hard drive makes them take forever. SSDs use new flash storage technology to make your computer work almost instantly. You don't need a new computer – just the Crucial BX300 SSD.
Micron® quality – a higher level of reliability.
As a brand of Micron, one of the largest flash storage manufacturers in the world, the Crucial BX300 is backed by the same quality and innovation that has produced some of the world's most advanced memory and storage technologies. Protect your photos, videos, and irreplaceable files from catastrophic hard drive crashes by storing them on inherently more durable Micron® 3D MLC NAND. With extensive prerelease validation testing and hundreds of SSD qualification tests, the Crucial BX300 has been thoroughly tried, tested, and proven. You'll notice the difference.

Upgraded my laptop HD. Works fine literally popped it in and away we went. Arrived in good condition, on time
Turned this drive into an external Bootcamp drive on my MacBook pro, via a USB 3.0 cable! Runs slightly slower than the internal SSD, but the internal SSD on this mac is (apple) custom and very very fast. Windows 10 boots from the internal drive 5-7 seconds quicker than the external drive, but considering it's through a USB port thats pretty amazing!! I cant comment on the use of the drive for internal laptop SSD, but I imagine it would be quicker than via USB. I use windows for 3D-Modeling software, and noticed no difference in performance, which is exactly what I needed. Making the drive bootable from windows 10 was a bit tricky as bootcamp doesn't allow it, but a bit of searching and workarounds are fairly readily available. Great SSD.
The expectations from the website are quite too high, so if you want to buy one, just start lowering your expectation a little bit. It makes the difference, just to give you some numbers, with a netbook 2gbs of ram, intel atom n570 dual core 4 threads, with Linux fedora: time to boot with high speed HDD 1.35mins, boot time with the Crucial SSD 45seconds.
The ssd itself doesn't feel so good in your hands, the chassis is a kind of plastic/metal thing, it's light tho, and the screws holes are not so tight.
I'm still incredibly happy of it, and it was the right move to buy it.
User experience is noticeably faster on an old laptop
Good SSD drive. Very lightweight. Laptop now boot super fast.
Repaired and upgraded HP250 G5. All good
Products good service isn't!
All worked well except the cloning software that was included.
Before I purchased the item, I contacted Crucial to confirm that it would do what I required and was assured it would. However, when I received the item and started to install it the instructions said that I needed an additional cable which was chargeable. Why couldn't the Customer Services person I dealt with before making the purchase tell me this?
I chose to purchase the item from Crucial after comparing prices with other suppliers for the same item. However, their price is less competitive when adding the cost of the cable on top.
It should be made clear that the cable is a pre-requisite.
