    204-pin SODIMM for Mac

In short, 204-pin small outline dual inline memory modules (SODIMMs) are the form factor used to provide DDR3 memory modules for notebook computers and other small form factor computing platforms.

To use DDR3 memory, your system must have both a 204-pin SODIMM slot and a chipset that supports DDR3 memory. A DDR3 SODIMM will not fit into DDR2 or DDR memory sockets.

SODIMMs are smaller and thinner than regular DIMMs, and the 204-pin SODIMM PCBs are always ~2.6 inches long and are usually around 1.18 inches high (though the heights can vary slightly). They consist of a number of memory components (usually black) that are attached to a printed circuit board (usually green). The number of memory components on a 204-pin SODIMM's printed circuit board (PCB) can vary, but the PCB will always have 102 pins on the front and the back both, for a total of 204 pins. The gold pins on the bottom of the SODIMM provide the connection between the memory module and the memory socket.

hey its a memory stick ! its sort of green and well its got chips on it and wow well it sort of clicks in and its memory like its well cool that it like makes the computer do stuff you want faster. Down side is its no fun to play with if you dont put it in a computer as its got sharp corners and does not float (if you want it to float you will be better off with a real stick made of wood)

another good thing is that you get to keep the ones you take out - they dont float either)

I timed my boot time, sad I know, before upping my RAM from 4-8Gb.

After the upgrade it is slower to boot and once I have logged in it takes about 20 seconds before the mac will accept any input from me.

I notice no difference when the machine is running, if anything some programs run slower.

    Don't waste your time.

The memory package allowed the complete upgrade of the MacBook Pro Memory. Once installed which is easy once the back is removed, I had the correct watch type screwdriver which is key.

Loading of the OS10 software is faster and supports the operation of Office 2016 with 365 better.

Needed to get more memory RAM on my macbook pro and someone at my workplace recommended crucial. The memory works fine and it was a straight on replacement, so good stuff.
