I wanted to make my laptop respond faster. After some long research, I found this is one of the ways to do that. Upgrade your conventional hard disk to a Solid State Drive, that's it. What more can I say?
Firstly think about will a solid state drive work on my laptop and is it worth doing with a potentially old laptop, help is on hand at Crucial's website. Secondly, think about how much storage you will need as these are quite pricey with more storage. Something else to consider is can I perform this upgrade, that's including swapping the hard disk and then putting any information from your older drive onto this one.
These Solid State Drive work more efficiently because there are no physical moving parts inside meaning your laptop can access the media faster and without any moving parts the solid state drive doesn't heat up as much.
I can honestly say my laptop has been given a new life. It boots up x4 as fast now. Applications load quicker, video and picture editing are a lot faster and smoother. Definitely five starts.
So much more reliable and faster than the standard disc drive
